We're very proud to wear Canadian drysuits! BARE maybe conquering the world right now, but to us they'll always be a local company. The Trilam Tech Dry is a serious suit, lightweight, flexible, comfortable, quick drying, and looks cool on camera! The Trilam Tech Dry comes with a ton of cool sounding stuff: M-PADz on the knees, telescopic torso, warm collar, double taped reinforcement at critical seam points, and a ton of optional extras that will help you make this suit your own. We love ours. We wear them a lot, they even stand up to a good sea lion chewing!
Oh yes, we do like our BARE! So their drysuits rock, but did you know they have some of the nicest feeling wetsuits ever, and actually the warmest we've ever worn. The mens Reactive, and women's Evoke are insane. So comfy, so warm, and really easy to get on.
BARE have an all women design team, which means all the women's suits are not only designed by people that know what they're doing - but they are also hard core divers that will dive in Canadian waters in the winter, in a wetsuit. Yeah, that kind of awesomeness gets our money right away.
Oh, and everyone knows women can dress men better than they can dress themselves, So it's a win-win!
BARE accessories are the bare necessities of diving. Hoods, gloves, boots, undergarments... the bits that are often easily overlooked, yet can make all the difference on a dive. BARE's 5mm neoprene gloves are the most dexterous and warmest we've worn. We wear them everywhere, from west to east coast of Canada.
If its good enough for Kevin Costner, its good enough for us! Amazingly well designed gear, kinda like the Ferrari of the scuba brands. The Atomic mask collection are just lovely. Large glass, super soft and comfy skirts, and some classy designs make these perfect for video or stills shooting.
The X1 Bladefins are kick ass. Emphasis on the kick. A ton of colours (thank you for bringing a little colour back to scuba!), with good flexibility, but a little stiffness when you need it. Reassuring straps, and lightweight enough to take on your travels. Love Atomic Aquatics!
A diving brand born out of a love for skydiving. Starting in 1979 Zeagle have innovated their way to the top producing BCD and regulators that really stand up to the rigours of the underwater world. Their backplate, harness and wing combo offers outstanding value for money and versatility, whilst the F8 regulator is a piece of gear you can quite literally bet your life on. A ton of gear for the more technical minded diver too.
Bags. Containers of awesomeness. Whether we're gallivanting across the globe, or heading out for a local dive, you need a Stahlsac equipment receptacle. Tough as houses, lightweight, reliable wheels that don't crumble under the weight of wet gear, and available in all shapes and sizes. They also look nice and subtle, which is important. You don't want to advertise to wondering eyes that you have thousands of dollars worth of scuba gear inside. The Duffle bag is especially handy!
The Petrel 2 is one of the best dive computers on the market with a huge list of capabilities, best of all it runs on a single AA battery making it extremely convenient to replace. Super easy to read display, easy to programme, excellent dive log, and a company that is always striving for perfection and great customer service.
Dive n Dry
A simple idea very well executed. The Dive n Dry is a foldable gear stand that we love, love, love! We can hang two sets of cold water gear (including backplates and channel weights) from this sturdy, aluminum stand. Hose down your gear and let it drip dry. It also folds down to the size of a small tripod. Super useful, well made, and now indispensable.
Aquatica GH5 housing
Aquatica took one of the best video cameras on the planet - the GH5, and made a submarine for it. The AGH5 housing is a work of art, sculpted from a solid block of aluminum, incredibly ergonomic, balanced, tough and uniquely elegant. We love, love, loooove our AGH5, it's what makes our underwater exploits possible. Aquatica are a Canadian company, distributing housings all over the globe to industry professionals, and serious underwater shooters. We are proud and very happy to dive with Aquatica.
The camera. This little piece of gear packs more punch than anything on the market under fifty thousand dollars. Weather proof, small and lightweight, capable of 4:2:2 10bit 4K 60fps, and a host of video features you won't find on anything less than a RED or ARRI. An incredible camera, and we're super pleased Panasonic listens to it's users and have developed such a piece of gear aimed at independent filmmakers.
Canadian made, and tougher than Chuck Norris in a suit of armour. When you travel with thousands of dollars worth of gear, you need to be able to trust a case to be waterproof, solid, and fully protective of its contents. Nanuk are excellent, come in all shapes and sizes, and even colours. Basically these cases are better than insurance.
LIGHT & motion
When you need to bring out the big guns, and more importantly – when they need to be pink, think Keldan! Beautifully designed and manufactured video lighting: small, lightweight, changeable batteries and a streamlined designed with huge beam coverage. Awesome lights.
