Founded in 1974, DIVER magazine is North America's longest established scuba diving publication. Owned and published by diving pioneer Phil Nuytten from North Vancouver, the magazine is now produced in my office on Vancouver Island. It is a small independent title, made possible by the contributions of a selection of the dive industry's most respected professionals. The magazine is designed, curated, and edited by me, with help from Virginia Cowell. It is printed in Vancouver and distributed all over North America, with an even audience in the US and Canada. The magazine is international in scope, covering destinations around the globe, but focussing on exploration and adventure. I aim for it to appeal to a diver's inner explorer. DIVER is published four times per year and is best consumed via a print subscription - that costs less than a large pizza. It is fun to contribute words and photography to each issue, and to work with so many other great divers. Producing a glossy, tactile magazine is still a task of great enjoyment for me.
